The Importance of a Clean Vehicle

Jan 19, 2023

Keeping the interior of your car, truck, or SUV clean and in good shape is an important part of making your vehicle last. KG Truck & Auto in Glen Burnie has some tips on keeping your car clean inside, and why keeping it clean matters.

Typically, whenever you get in or out of your car, you have something to do and somewhere to be. You may not think about cleaning your interior until you are sitting in the car, but at that point, you probably don’t have time to waste. It’s easy to let your car get messy and neglect maintaining your interior, but there are good reasons to keep your car’s interior detailed.

Spilled drinks are a major problem for vehicles, especially modern ones with a lot of electronic devices. Usually, when you spill a drink, you are driving, and can’t really pay attention to the road while cleaning up a spill. Liquid immediately makes its way into hard to reach places, and once it dries leaves a sticky residue behind. This residue causes window switches to stop working, buttons to get stuck, and sliders and levers that allow your seat to adjust to get jammed, to name a few issues. If you spill a drink inside your vehicle, take the time to clean it properly as soon as possible – if you spilled it onto anything electronic, it doesn’t hurt to take it to the shop for disassembly and thorough cleaning.

Another aspect of cleaning your vehicle is by applying protective agents. These chemicals are specific to the types of materials inside a vehicle. These materials prevent sun damage and provide a protective layer that prohibits spills and stains from damaging your interior.

Food and debris also negatively affect your vehicle's interior components. Blockage from small debris cause seat belt buckles to malfunction, seats to stop working, steering wheel buttons to stick, and a wide variety of other issues. Keep interior components clear of any obstructions.

While you care and maintain the look of your vehicle, we can handle the mechanical components of it. If your vehicle is in need of maintenance or repair, bring it by KG Truck & Auto and let our technicians take a look.
